Alvaro Beltran (Alvie)
Alvaro Beltran is from Santiago, Chile. In Chile, Alvie played at the highest youth level for Santiago Morning, a professional team in Chile (from age 17-19). However, after finishing high school, he decided to go on to pursue higher education in America and play soccer at MidAmerica Nazarene University (MNU).
In 2012, he came to America and was a four year starter and staple of the MNU defense and midfield from day one. Alive was affectionally known as the “fireman”, as he played many different positions throughout his career. He was known for his servant leadership and being willing to do or be whatever the team needed most.
In 2012, he was Third Team All Conference and a final four round appearance in NAIA National Tournament. In 2013, he got Second Team All Conference as a sophomore and a second round appearance in the National Tournament. In 2014, he got Second Team All Conference and second round of the National Tournament as well. In 2015, he was First Team All Conference, the team captain, and led the team to their greatest playoff run in school history, Runner Up in the National Tournament and Honorable Mention All American. Leaving MNU with a National ranking of #2 in the country.
As a coach, Alive hopes to inspire kids to play the right way, to pass on his love for the game to his players and model servant leadership in everything he does both on and off the field.
Alvie continues to play soccer and is currently playing professional futsal with the KC Cyclones. Alvie is majoring in Sports Management with a Fitness Emphasis and a minor in Coaching athletics. Graduating in May on 2016.
