Andy grew up playing soccer in the Kanas City area. He was a midfield player, four year and captain at Olathe South High School. He played 2 years of college soccer at SNU (Southern Nazarene University), which was a Top 25 team in the NAIA while he played there.
Andy then transferred to The University of Kansas to pursue a career in the field of History and received his Bachelor’s of History in 2005. He went on to pursue his Secondary Education Licensure from Mid-America Nazarene University in 2007.
Andy’s coaching career began while attending KU as he went on staff with the Blue Valley STARS in 2005 and remained with the club until 2012. I coached every age group from U-8 to U-18 on the boys’ side of BVSC while additionally participating in numerous camps, clinics, academies, and tournaments.
Andy served as the Assistant coach at GEHS for the 2008 season and led the JV to a 12-2-1 in his first year. He then took over as the head coach in the 2009 season and led the Varsity to their best record in school history.
Andy was selected by the Kansas Youth Soccer Association as the 2008 Kansas Youth Soccer Boys Competitive Coach of the Year.
He holds a United States Soccer Federation National license and has participated in coaching clinics with Manchester United and Newcastle United first team coaches in addition to numerous clinics led by the Sporting KC coaching staff.
Andy decided to join Toca primarily because he wanted to make an impact on kids and take his faith outside of the church walls and into his life as a coach. Toca is very excited to have Andy join us for his great experience as a coach and passion for living out his faith.
