Kyle has been immersed in the game of soccer for roughly 20 years, playing and studying the game his entire life. He enjoyed successful club and high school careers, with high school being particularly impressive.
Kyle played at Maranatha Academy, where he was part of the team that won Maranatha’s first Kansas State Championship in its history his freshman year, and taking them back to the state tournament for two more consecutive years. In addition to a state championship, throughout his high school career, Kyle was nominated captain of his team, won the defensive MVP, and was selected to the All-State team. After high school, Kyle had the privilege of being able to go on to play at the collegiate level for Oklahoma Baptist University.
Kyle’s approach to coaching comes from his past experiences with youth soccer. After growing up in the youth soccer system here in Kansas City, Kyle realized there was a lot of opportunity to be had in terms of how the game was approached at the youth level. He wanted a club that created players who had superior technical ability and knowledge of the game, but even more than that, he wanted a club that invested in its players as human beings, not just soccer players. His desire is to take a more holistic approach to coaching, because becoming a great player has just as much to do with one’s character as it does their ability on the field, and Toca FC does exactly that.
